David started out his creative life firmly running events,
managing bands, help setting up Community Organisations, establishing record
labels and pitching for new commercial radio licenses all during University.
After starting his own business offering Creative Industry
Business Support; recognising that his skills of project management, business
management and organisational skill were greatly in demand in the creative industries,
he was contracted to deliver the Business Support Service that had been developed
from the research undertaken by The Custard Factory, South Birmingham College
and Tribal Dundas and supported by the Learning and Skills Council.
Out of the first contract grew Creative Launchpad as we know
it; the brand, the model of engagement and the position of the service in the
marketplace to ensure the overall development of the Creative Industries in
the region.
Now, Senior Project Manager of Tribal Consulting Community
Development Team and responsible for the Creative Industries Department, he
has broadened out the service to all the creative industries sectors and into
different regions in the UK, personally providing business development support
and practical advice to hundreds of clients. With the expanding team it continues
to be a service that is dynamic, engaging, respected and trusted by many.
He can often be seen through the windows of the Creative Launchpad
office at The Custard Factory offering advice and guidance to one of his many
clients, and then providing support to the ever growing Project Team, ensuring
that they have the same passionate and commitment to the project that the client
demands.
